April 2016 Newsletter

Message from the President

PIA has had a very busy first quarter, with a number of activities designed to engage with members
and get the year off to a brisk start. The Business Plan for 2016 has been approved and the budget
adjusted to take into account some additional expenses envisaged as a result of recent decisions.
These include support for initiatives to promote the adoption of ISO 9906-2012 to Standards Australia
as the basis for performance testing of roto-dynamic pumps and work with the Dept of Environment
on Emissions Reduction Fund issues.
We welcome Jamie Dixon of White International to Council and look forward to working with him on
matters contained in the Business Plan. His appointment was con firmed in March this year.
It is important that members do their best to support the programs organised for the rest of 2016. Attendance at recent
meetings has been good but there is always room for improvement. Please come along to meetings in your State and
get an update on progress against our objectives for this year. The next meeting is in Perth on 10 May 2016. I hope
to see you there.
Yours Sincerely,
Ron Astall
