Course Overview

This training course is aimed at those staff that are working within the pumping industry and will enable participants to provide a more professional service to people relying on the pumping industry for advice, service and products.

Units of Competency

  1. AHCIRG340 Install irrigation pumps
    This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to install and commission pumps and systems.It applies to individuals who take responsibility for their own work and for the quality of the work of others. They use discretion and judgement in the selection, allocation and use of available resources. All work is carried out to comply with workplace procedures.
  2. AHCIRG435 Determine hydraulic parameters for an irrigation system
    This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to determine hydraulic parameters for a pump system.It applies to individuals who analyse information and exercise judgement to complete a range of advanced skilled activities and demonstrate deep knowledge in a specific technical area. They have accountability for the work of others and analyse, design and communicate solutions to a range of complex problems. All work is carried out to comply with workplace procedures.
  3. AHCIRG438 Select and manage pumping systems for irrigation
    This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain pumping systems.
    This topic applies to individuals who will analyse information and exercise judgement to select or troubleshoot an existing pump set or system. Various pump types and situations will be analysed. The attendee will have accountability for the whole process and analyse, design and communicate solutions to a range of complex problems. All work is carried out to comply with industry best practices.
